The positions

In 2008, DS Girls Lacrosse adopted the "new" positions in Girls/Womens lacrosse.

The positions on the field are now as follows:

Grades 7/8 and 5/6 play 12v12.   Their players are broken up into:

  •  1 square of Attack
  •  3 Midfielders
  • 1 square of Defense
  • Goalie

The Draw
Starts each half; starts play after each goal (unless there is a 4 goal differential where free position is awarded)

Up to 4 players can stand around the center circle until the opposing centers take the draw; then players can rush in for the ball.


Grades 3/4 play 10v10.   Their players are broken up into:

  • 3 Attack
  • 3 Midfielders
  • 3 Defense
  • Goalie
